Entering Scores for Students that Change Classes

PBL Home

In the event that a student transfers from one concept to another concept, one teacher to another teacher, or one section to another section, AND the course number/concept name is exactly the same, PBL scores will travel with the student.  This is how PBL was designed.

Add and drop dates are very important for the scores to work correctly.
Added Students
On the Standard Score screen, if you hover over the student's name, the Add Date will be displayed.
  • For elementary students, the Add Date is the date that you enter the student into your concepts, this is done upon initial enrollment into your concepts and cannot be changed later.
  • For secondary students, the Add Date is generated by your registrar or counselors as they create a student's schedule.

NOTE:  Special situations
  • Students that enter a course after it has begun will have blank boxes, that will not auto-fill with zeros, for any assessments that were given before the student's Add Date.
  • Teachers have to option to enter a score for those assessments if the student demostrates a proficiency level, and that score will be included in the standard score and calculated grade (if applicable).
  • Teacher are not required to enter a score, and the blank will not count against the student if the assessment was given before the student's add date.
Dropped Students
Drop dates are just as important.

On the Standard Score screen, if you hover over the icon shown below, the date a student was dropped with be displayed.
  • For elementary students, the Drop Date is dependent upon you going into the concept and adding a drop date for the student and then saving.  This should be done immediately, so that the next teacher can enroll the student in their concept.
  • For secondary students, the Drop Date is generated by your registrar or counselors as they move or withdraw a student.

NOTE:  Special situations
  • In PBL, when a student is dropped, any assessments with a future due date will be grayed out, and scores cannot be entered.
